Is it really a problem with supply, or is it a distribution problem? How would you characterize the politics of food? Answer: The benefits of applying genetic engineering to food crops include longer shelf life and resistance to diseases. The potential adverse effect of Genetically Modified Crops (GMOs) includes the toxic effects of the food products and their decreased nutritional value (Bawa Anilakumar, 2013). They also harm the environment. Yes, there is a need of genetically modified foods. The problem is with the supply as well as the distribution. The politics of food is characterized as increasing the capital by using the genetically modified foods and posing a threat to the lives of the individuals who consume the genetically modified foods (Gurău Ranchhod, 2016).
